THE OBJECT

A famous photographer that uses shadows in their photography is Andre Kertesz.

Shadows move with a light source because they are a result of light being blocked by an opaque object. When the light source moves, the object continues to block the light, but the blocked area shifts, causing the shadow to move accordingly. The closer an object is to a light source, the larger its shadow will be, and the further away, the smaller. The direction of the shadow also changes depending on the position of the light source relative to the object.
